Academic Collaboration
Building a well-developed and deep-rooted academic
collaboration is everyone's desire in the academic community. Collaboration is
an energy, it brings different ideas to a table and builds big ideas, bring
real outputs, and solve societal challenges. As the fellow of the DOROTHY MSCA COFUND programme, I and my supervisors Professor Witold Kwapinski from
University of Limerick, Ireland and Professor Urška Lavrenčič
Štangar from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia are working on Transition
Metal Oxy-Sulfide-Based Nanomaterials for design and development of Thin
Film Photocatalyst Materials for Photodegradation of Emerging Contaminants,
mainly Antibiotics. Professor Kibret Mekuanint from University
of Western Ontario, Canada is my mentor, where he is a fully experienced
researcher and has a subject area knowledge of our project. Dr. Osman
Ahmed Zelekew and Dr. Noto Susanto Gultom were my lab-mates during my PhD
work, where we did significant research outputs together and we are currently sharing/exchanging
knowledge on our respective research fields and plans. We all the collaborators
have a plan to compete for European Research Council (ERC), Science Foundation Ireland
(SFI), and Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA)-Ireland funding challenges to bring visible
research outputs, which could bring significant solutions for societal challenges.
